Street Lighting Equipment

The development of Bandung as a metropolitan city has driven the need for safe and environmentally friendly transportation infrastructure, including Street Lighting Equipment (APJ). In accordance with Law No. 22 of 2009, APJ must be provided to support traffic safety. The Bandung Caang Utama program is a concrete commitment by the Bandung City Government to create a bright, safe, and livable city in line with the development direction outlined in the RPJPD and RPD.

Technical Aspects

• The ideal distance between street lighting poles is 20 meters
• Total Requirements: 96,940 points (if twoway)
• The main components of street lighting include foundations and poles, power sources, electrical current types, controls, protection, and high-quality luminaires
• Safety requirements refer to Ministry of Transportation Regulation No. 47 of 2023, which requires street lighting to be safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly.

Environmental Aspects

The street lighting in Bandung City uses LED lights that support the development of green infrastructure:

• More energy efficient
• Does not contain hazardous materials suchas mercury
• Recyclable
• Has a long lifespan of up to 50,000 hours
• Reduces light pollution

Financial Aspects

Local Government Budget (APBD) for Street Lighting:

• 2022: Rp17.6 million
• 2023: Rp19.1 million
• 2024: Rp10.9 million
• 2025: Rp11.7 million
• Road Lighting Tax Revenue (2023): Rp217.9 million with a realization rate of 106.29%

Action Plan and Budget

Some of the main programs include:

• The need for the installation of Public Street Lighting in 14 road sections in the city of Bandung that do not yet have Public Street Lighting, totaling 48,470 units, with the specification of LED street lights.
• The project will be implemented through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) scheme with a total investment value of Rp 1,106.3 trillion for construction and Rp 68.7 billion for maintenance, with a total investment value of Rp 1,175 trillion.
